“The world needs dreamers, and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do.” – Sarah Ban Breathnachs.
I dream of the day when lead generation, marketing and sales become exact sciences.
That day when we know, with pinpoint accuracy what all our ratios and key performance indicators are.
But for now, the industries remain intriguing.
Intriguing because we deal with humans every day.
Humans, with their various agenda items and competing priorities. As a species, our decision-making process is never straightforward.
According to Psychology Today ( https://psychologytoday.com ):
“When deciding, we form opinions and choose actions via mental processes which are influenced by biases, reason, emotions, and memories.
Factors that limit the ability to make good decisions include missing or incomplete information, urgent deadlines, and limited physical or emotional resources.
When people are put in a familiar situation, their decisions are often fast and automatic, based on longtime experience with what works and what doesn’t.
However, when encountering a situation they’ve never been in before, they have to take time to weigh the potential benefits and risks when choosing a course of action.”
If our people have all the information they need and have given our proposal sufficient consideration, they will be able to make an informed decision.
“Your choices and decisions are a reflection of how well you’ve set and followed your priorities.” – Elizabeth George.
For now, let’s keep doing the doing and be ready to help others when they are ready.
