To me, lead generation is the perfect blend between marketing (running with a client’s strategy) and sales (delivering fresh, shiny and new opportunities to sales teams).
Picture the scene: a football match.
The MD is in the dugout, giving words of encouragement (hopefully 😊) to his team.
I’m out on the wing, wearing the kit designed by marketing and running with the ball. It too, has been designed by our marketing team.
Our team kit looks very smart and is designed to appeal to our very enthusiastic fans.
The ball is the perfect weight and shape for the job.
The ball represents the opportunity. It is my job to put a perfectly weighted pass into the penalty area for our strikers: the sales team, to convert the opportunity into some business. That is our goal.
In a nutshell, this to me, is what lead generation is all about.
